Burberry: Art of the Trench

Burberry is one of the first British brands to embrace the 'online boom'. Back in September, Burberry streamed their London Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2010 show live online, offering viewers the ability to share comments live as well as pause, rewind and replay their favourite parts. Now, they are once again keeping up with fashion followers by launching a new website with social networking capabilities...

Art of the Trench celebrates the iconic Burberry trench coat and the people who wear it.
For the site's launch, creative director Christopher Bailey commissioned Mr. Sartorialist himself - Scott Schuman, to photograph people on the streets wearing trenches.

Users can submit photographs of themselves or their friends wearing a Burberry trench as well as being able to comment and 'like' other images...

Technically, I had difficulties navigating around the site and found that it froze on several occasions. However, I did enjoy looking through the images and reading the comments users have added.

"Artofthetrench.com celebrates our iconic trench coat, capturing the emotional connection behind our distinctive outerwear heritage. Everybody has a different story related to our coat or the first time they came into contact with one - I love the idea that people from all over the world can share those stories and images with each other..."

I wish I was a trendy kid like these lot...
