Patisserie Valerie

Inspired by a photograph I saw of a Patisserie Valerie birthday cake, I took a trip to the Covent Garden  branch with my boyfriend (whose birthday we were celebrating - Happy Birthday Paul!). I used to work in Covent Garden and have walked past it a million times but never had the right excuse to go in...

And what a treat! The strawberry tart was sticky but not too sticky, sweet but not too sweet, the perfect size, the perfect amount. The lemon tart was just as delicious and the presentation was simple but slick. I'd definitely recommend indulging yourself with one of these lovely french treats. 

The interior was playful but chic, with lots of French artwork on display and simple wooden furniture. If you are strong enough to resist the temptation, even a quick peek in the window will make you smile.

Big decisions to be made...

We chose the Tarte aux Fraises and Tarte aux Citrons

What great choices, both were beautifully presented and absolutely delicious!

Unfortunately, they didn't last long...
